Hi everyone~ I don't usually post serious stuff on dA, but I've decided to this time because I want to share my growth over the past year.

Around this time last year, my life hit the lowest of lows. I never expected to be here this time this year, posting pics of myself excitedly trying on waterproof mascara for the first time and being able to smile for photos again. So when I look back at this post in future, I want to remember what I'm feeling now.

I'm happy to be able to be proud of myself.
I'm happy to be able enjoy my passions again.
I'm happy to be able to talk to people freely.
I'm happy to be able to trust.

I'm happy to be alive.

I hope whoever is reading this who is in a bad place themselves can know that it is possible to climb out of holes you fall in, no matter how deep they are. I have faith in you to be able to muster up the courage and strength to reach out for help, no matter how useless and hopeless it may seem from where you're standing. Every one of you deserves to be happy, and being able to go for it in your worst of times is the mark of a truly strong person. It's OK to cry, it's OK to get support from others and it's OK to help yourself. You're not weak, you're not a burden and you're not a waste. You're a unique existence and you are the only person who is in control of how to spend your moment in the sun and make the most of it. You are valuable, you matter.
